Countdown to 60

As I get closer to 60 I have to reflect back over the years and share 60 of the lessons I have learned about life in general but mostly personally. I realize everyday that you really never get to old to learn. Some of the lessons you may have heard before but what the heck, they are still valid. So here goes

1 Everything I did or experienced had a purpose.

If I look back over the years and connect the dots I can see that everything that happened to me fitted into the long term plan of my life. That does't mean that I understood it when it happened or that I am understanding some of the stuff happening now. What I do know is that I should learn something in every situation.

2  Wherever you go, there you are.

The one person in life that you cannot run away from is yourself. So make peace with yourself, love yourself and you will never be lonely.

3. Wherever you are, be there.

Isn't it weird that we tend to live in the future or in the past and so often miss what is available to us right now. Learn from the past, yes, plan for the future, yes, but BE in the present. If you ever think you should have done something in another way or said something else and it causes you stress or makes you feel guilty, do something about it now, appologize, learn from it, move on. Let the past go past.
If you feel that you should be somewhere else or wish you were already at a future event, look around you, you are where you are because you are suppose to be where you are. Make the most of it because nothing happens without a reason.
